SILO – Animal Health department is strongly oriented towards research and technological innovation for a natural growth promotion in animal nutrition. Our mission is to develop, produce and market Monoglycerides of Short and Medium Fatty Acids to be used in animal nutrition for gut health modulation, better nutrient absorption, gut development and integrit. Safety, sustainability and reduction of antibiotics are the guide-lines of our approach, based on research activities carried out in scientific cooperation with research units like Guelph University : Prof. Steve Leeson IZLER : Dr. Loris Alborali University of Parma : Prof. Afro Quarantelli IRTA : Dr. Enric Esteve
The ever-increasing demand for energy and the associated environmental concerns call for introduction of measures for preventing or reducing the negative effects of energy production. Since 2003 SILO R&D programs are focused on optimization of alternative, renewable bioenergy sources based on vegetable products. The research activities are conducted by SILO in scientific cooperation with research institutes like C.R.E.A.R. (Research Center for Alternative and Renewable Energy) and led to the development of sustainable vegetable products, alternative to vegetable food-grade oils normally used for the production of energy. SILO is certified ISCC for International Sustainability and has a Green Economy certification by Italian Industrial Association.
